Are You Strictly Ready to Start Learning the Guitar?

Are you ready to Learn and Master Guitar? Almost certainly the biggest versatile musical instrument made is the guitar. It is used in numerous genres of music; from alternative music to country.  So many lead singers in bands play the guitar as well.

If you want to start learning how to play the guitar, it will take some patience, dedication, and commitment on your behalf. You must also haveto get used to some physical outcomes from learning the guitaras well.

What I mean is, you most likely will get calluses on your fingers, the stumming of strings.  Your hands will cramp a a bit when you start learning the chords, (your hands are not used to those postions).  Your shoulders may get sore and tired too.

Always remember, no matter who your guitar hero is, they also had to start somewhere.  They also experienced the same finger calluses hand and shoulder soreness that you do.  No Pain No Gain is actually truly relevant when you first begin learning the guitar.

Before you learn how to play the guitar, you have to learn how to tune it. In order to harvest any good sounds, your guitar needs to be tuned. The first step in tuning is the lower E string, which is the bottom string. Next is the A string (2nd from the bottom), D string (3rd from the bottom), G string (fourth from the bottom) and B string (5th from the bottom). The high E string is the last to tune. You may also use electronic tuners; these are available at almost all music stores.

You can pay the music store to get your guitar in tune for you.  However, this truly is a skill that you should learn how to to do.  Otherwise, you'll be paying out quite a bit of moneyon getting your guitar tuned.  Ask someone at a music storeto instruct you how to tune a guitar.  They may charge a small fee or they may do it for free.  It is certainly worth it to learn because this will ensurethat any time you're ready to play the guitar, your guitar sounds it's best.

Once your guitar has been tuned, now comes learning how to read guitar tabs. These tutorials can be found in the internet. ( I higly recommend the Learn and Master Guitar Course.  It has training for everything you must know- from tuning your guitar, to hand placement, to stumming.  You can find information on this comprehensive course right here: Learn and Master Guitar Review -you can also get a free 5 lesson course sent to your email).

Now, you must place your fingers on each string properly. Doing this properly will lesson the pain you experience. Next, strum the guitar with your other hand. Lastly, practice playing songs that have the least complicated chords to play.  Some simple chords are C, G, and A.

That's it! Now you know the basics of how to play a guitar. Remember that practice makes perfect. The more you practice, the sooner you will master playing the guitar.

Bass Guitar Beginnings

The bass has always played an important role in the music of yesterday and most modern music today. No matter what the instrument is, a bass line is usually always represented in some form or another, from the lower instruments of an orchestra, to the bass notes played by a solo acoustic guitarist, the bass line serves as the foundation and root for the music. Music would sound hollow and incomplete without a driving bass line. As music styles evolved into modern jazz, blues, rock and roll and r&b, there was a need for a new type of bass instrument to provide the necessary strong bass line support. The bass guitar was then invented.

Though the very first electric bass guitar was invented in the 1930's it never achieved the critical mass of popularity until the Fender bass guitars brought the electric bass to the masses. The equivalent prior instrument, the upright bass existed for hundreds of years prior to this.  With a sound that was different from the familiar upright acoustic basses in use, the electric bass guitar offered a variety of tonal adjustments, playing techniques, sounds and all of this could be heard clearly and loudly with new electric amplification, which in and of itself offered some means of creative tonal adjustments and sound shaping. Instead of playing it vertically and either plucking the strings or pulling a bow across the strings, the bass guitar is played just like a regular guitar and is held horizontally. The bass guitar looks similar to an electric guitar in that it's body is solid, but the bass guitar has a longer neck than an electric guitar. Also, unlike an acoustic guitar which is hollow, with a sound hole to allow for amplification, the sound of a Fender bass guitar is amplified by plugging it in to an amplifier and speaker. A bass guitar typically has four strings which are tuned an octave lower than the lowest strings of a regular guitar. While guitars are primarily strummed and picked, the bass can be played with a variety of techniques as well including, fingering, picking, slapping, thumb play, muting thumping and more. The bass is probably one of the closest interacting instruments to the drums; it's because of this relationship that the bass guitar is a prominent rhythm section instrument. The combination of bass and drums and their unique interaction can completely influence the feel and vibe of the music.
